Bernie Ecclestone

Bernie Ecclestone and his wife Fabiana Flosi are expecting a baby. At 89, Ecclestone does not think he is aging. To him, there is little difference between an 89-year-old and 29-year-old – problems stay the same. “It’s alright.”

As he has only just announced, he believes there is still plenty of time before deciding on a name for the baby. Ecclestone already has three daughters from his previous marriages. The baby will be his first son.

Bernie Ecclestone has managed the biggest racing platform in Formula 1 for almost 40 years. In that period, he brought big changes and helped take F1 to the highest ranks of racing. Even though the legendary F1 mogul has retired from F1, he is still very popular. Just a few days ago, he predicted the future of Toto Wolff who currently works with Mercedes as the team principal. According to the still young at 89, former F1 mastermind, the current Mercedes CEO could be leaving for Racing Point soon. After completing a long tenure at Mercedes, there remains little left to achieve which is why there is a high chance of Wolff leaving the team principal seat open for new applicants as soon as his contract expires.

The news is also coupled with the reignited ambition of Lawrence Stroll who is trying to change the atmosphere around Racing Point most notably by replacing the pink team with Aston Martin. Aston Martin will be arriving at the next year’s first F1 race. However, for the next year to arrive, 2020 has to finish first. Since the cancellation of the F1 Grands Prix due to the outbreak, the F1 2020 season seems to be stuck in some kind of limbo right now. Maybe if Bernie Ecclestone returns to the seat of decision-makers at F1, the state of racing could be better handled.
